The World’s First Sustainable Chicken Products
In 2009, we began the “CPF Product Sustainability” project which applied the concept of Product Life Cycle Assessment covering our production process from raw material sourcing, feed production, animal farming and food processing following the ISO 14040 and ISO 14044. We also applied the Eco-Efficiency Analysis – an assessment of cost efficiency and the environmental and social impacts of products. Since 2013, over 700 of our chicken products have been awarded ProSustain® certification by the DNV-GL, one of the world’s leading certification bodies for product sustainability. We were the first company with sustainable chicken products.
The First Shrimp Product Certified Carbon Footprint Reduction in Thailand
In 2015, our Shrimp wonton was the first Thai shrimp product that received the Carbon Footprint Reduction label from Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (TGO.). The product reduced GHG emissions by 23%.
At present, CP fresh chicken products which received the Carbon Footprint Reduction label have 50% lower GHG emissions on average compared to other Thai chicken manufacturers.
Water Footprint Labels
In 2018, as the first company in Thailand, we received the “Water Scarcity Footprint” label for our fresh chicken products and tender chicken breast product by the Federation of Thai Industries. To receive the label, companies are required to assess the likelihood of impacts of water scarcity in each area and to implement proactive water management measures that help mitigate impacts of water scarcity in the future.
