Dr. Bandid Nijathaworn Thailand’s Private Sector Collection Action Coalition against Corruption (CAC) Secretary General and President and CEO of the Thai Institute of Directors announced that CAC recently certifies membership status of 34 companies. 861 private companies have made a pledge to tackle corruption and bribery problems with CAC and 264 companies are currently certified that their anti-corruption policies and compliance standards have meet with CAC’s standard.
“The certified companies are from different business backgrounds including multination companies. It shows the importance of anti-corruption system in a business and also the private sector’s effort to make a corruption-free society.” Dr. Bandid said.
CAC is a voluntary program to tackle corruption and bribery in business. To be a certified member, the companies must make a declaration to tackle corruption and bribery problems with CAC and go through self-assessment, verification from an audit committee and the external auditor and, lastly, the approval of CAC council.
