Charoen Pokphand Foods Pcl (CPF) plants has been awarded Green Industry Level 4 and 5 by the Ministry of Industry in the Green Industry Award 2017 ceremony.
Mr.Wuthichai Sithipreedanant, senior vice president for CSR & Sustainability of CPF said five CPF plants has been awarded Green Industry awards. This accomplishment is a result of the Company commitment on sustainable business based on the three pillars: Food security, Self-Sufficient Society and Balance of Nature. The company strive for making efficient use of natural resource.
Minburi processing plant received Green Industry Award level 5, green network, while Saraburi Plant, Nakhon Ratchasima Plant, Lamphun Plant and Minburi Plant 2 has been awarded Green Industry Awards Level 4, Green culture.
Green industry level 4 (Green culture) require employees from all level to take responsibility on the environment until it becomes an integral part of the organization’s culture. To achieve level 5, the organization must create the green supply chain by supporting its partner to join green industry program.
Green Industry scheme has been initiated by Ministry of Industry since 2011. As of 2017, 31,324 plants has joined the project while 285 plants has been awarded with Green Industry Level 4 and only 36 plants received level 5 status.
