Charoen Pokphand Foods PCL (CPF) obtained FAMI-QS certification to assure the premix additives use in its aquaculture feed meal production are safe and traceability.

The certification reflects the company’s commitment to deliver high quality and safety food products adhering with global standards for consumers worldwide. It also shows strong intention of responsibility through the best inspection food safety deepening in every raw material and manufacturing. 
Mr. Sumeth Hutinthawong, Commercial Manager of Bureau Veritas (Thailand) Ltd, a global leader in testing, inspection and certification organization, said CPF obtained FAMI-QS reflecting the company’s leadership on food quality and safety based on European animal feed regulations which addressing traceability and legality of feed additive which certified this standard. The certification granted to the company’s Premix Division for aquaculture feed. 
“This standard helps reinforce consumers’ confidence in CPF and its suppliers on responsibly food production in terms of product quality assurance throughout the supply chain. This achievement is one of the key progress of CPF’s sustainable food production,” said Sumeth. 
Mr. Emmanuel Geneiatakis, FAMI-QS secretary from EU, said CPF undertakes the latest FAMI-QS : Version 6 management system covering Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and HACCP that align with Codex Alimentarius. This standard also integrates other global management standards for further development of feed ingredients and feed additives to comply with EU feed regulations. 
“FAMI-QS standard will assure CPF’s production is safe and hygienic feed according to EU regulations. This will help expand the company’s export opportunities of its food products to foreign markets,” said Mr. Geneiastakis. 
Mr. Boonthong Angkavanich, Vice President of Premix Division of CPF, said the company has adopted the global standards including FAMI-QS in the premix production lines to improve quality and safety management of animal feed ingredients. It is not only strengthening quality and safety, but also enhancing competitiveness to CPF food products both in Thailand and international market.
