CPF recently announced its sustainable performance in 2016. In addition, it pledge to continue environmental projects and compliance to energy efficiency policy.
The highlight performance in 2016 includes fishmeal is completely 100% traceable back to the vessels at port, 11.26% less energy consumption in the production line, 6.88% less water consumption and 1.05% less Green House Gas emission.
Mr. Wuthichai Sithipreedanant, Senior Vice President for Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainable Development of Charoen Pokphand Foods PCL (CPF), said that the numbers reflect the commitment in operating environmental friendly business. This commitment has been extend to our partners.
He added that the importance of environment to the business is recognized by the company. It has a policy to preserve environment and using energy efficiently throughout production change.
CPF has outlined business strategies and social responsibilities towards sustainable business under the three pillars: “Food Security, Self-Sufficient Society and Balance of Nature”.
It also develop its production process in line with Product Life Cycle Assessment to ensure quality and safe foods are delivered to consumer as well as building food sustainability.
