Chonburi - 1st Army Region and Charoen Pokphand Foods PLC (CPF) inaugurated the first ever CP Pork Shop in the army base. The Shop is now operating as an Army welfare shop in Navamintharachini Camp in Chonburi province. The shop will increase availability of safe and quality foods in the community and generate stable income for families at the Army base.
The cooperation is a pioneer project to improve the quality of life for people who live in the base. The army has allocated the space and set up the shop for the owner to provide an opportunity for the family to build their own business and being a potential channel for army wife group to sell their own products.
Lt Gen Kukiat Srinaka, the 1st Army Region commander in charge of the Central Region, said this cooperation, using the private sector’s expertise in food product and marketing, will allow 3,000 soldiers at the base and the nearby communities to gain access to the safe and fresh foods in an affordable price. Moreover, the cooperation will create stable jobs for the families of the soldier.
“The welfare shop will create food security and improve quality of life of the families and nearby community. Importantly, it will be an alternative career choice for the families. Half of the shop’s profit will be used for improving the army’s welfare,” said Lt Gen Kukiat.
Mr. Pong Visedpaitoon, Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee of CPF, said the cooperation is a great opportunity for the Company to support the people in the military base to have a stable income. The shop also offers safe and quality food products made from the reliable food producers that can be trace throughout the supply chain.
Mrs. Saipin Jiwprasert, the owner of the shop, said it is a good opportunity for the family to start the business and allow young people to develop skills that can be benefit for their futures.
CPF Pork Shop scheme is CPF’s initiative project that encourage people to create their owned business. In addition it will allow consumer to access more safety food.
