CP-CPF Launches Relief Kitchen at Pattani Hospital to Support Frontline Responders in Flood-Stricken Southern Provinces

CP-CPF Launches Relief Kitchen at Pattani Hospital to Support Frontline Responders in Flood-Stricken Southern Provinces

The ongoing flooding continues to devastate eight provinces in southern Thailand: Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Trang, Satun, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, and Narathiwat. The severe rainfall has critically impacted over 550,000 households, leaving residents struggling to access basic necessities, particularly food. In response to this humanitarian crisis, CP Group and Charoen Pokphand Foods Public Company Limited (CPF), together with their affiliated companies, are working closely with government agencies, private sector partners, and volunteer organizations to provide essential support and relief to affected Thai citizens.

In the flood-stricken southern provinces of Pattani, Yala, Narathiwat, and Songkhla, medical facilities are experiencing unprecedented strain, with medical school hospitals overwhelmed by the volume of critical patients. Recognizing the urgent need, CP-CPF  partners with the 42nd Army Military District and the Medical Association of Thailand to establish the "Pattani Hospital Kitchen”.

This dedicated kitchen serves as a support center, providing nourishing meal boxes and drinking water to frontline responders working selflessly to assist vulnerable populations in the southernmost provinces. With the capacity to produce 1,000 nutritious meal boxes daily, the kitchen represents a beacon of hope and solidarity during this challenging crisis. Conceived as a pilot project, this initiative will continue until the region recovers and stabilizes, embodying CP-CPF's commitment to supporting communities in their most vulnerable moments.

The Commander of the 42nd Army Military District is overseeing the daily transportation of ingredients from CPF operations and delivery of meals to healthcare professionals in each province.

Additionally, the Chicken and Egg Complex in Chana, Songkhla, continues to supply fresh eggs to volunteers of “Area Dusit (Making Thailand Brighter and Better)" to assist victims in Songkhla, Pattani, and Narathiwat. The 42nd Army Military District is also involved in delivering cooked meals to alleviate the suffering of affected individuals in these areas.

This comprehensive humanitarian effort, spearheaded by CPF CEO President Prasert Boondoungprasert, represents a strategic and heartfelt commitment to supporting flood-affected communities in the southern region. Under the "Food from the Heart to Fight Floods" initiative, the company has committed to supporting 100 relief kitchens, with CPF volunteers playing a critical role in delivering essential aid and ensuring sustained support for those most vulnerable.

Currently, CPF has supported multiple kitchens and relief centers for flood victims, including providing food products via the Songkhla Governor's kitchen, the CPF kitchen with the 42nd Army Military District and the Medical Association of Thailand at Pattani Hospital, the 42nd Army Military District's collection center in Hat Yai, Songkhla, and several other relief kitchens throughout the affected provinces.
