Charoen Pokphand Group joins hands with Charoen Pokphand Foods Company Limited to deliver to the people of Bangkok Noi - Bang Plat communities as a part of CP Group’s Covid-19 relief campaign, "Growing Andrographis Paniculata” project, initiated by CP Group Senior Chairman Dhanin Chearavanont.
This herbal medicine give-away project aims at donating 30 million herbal capsules of traditional herb, Andrographis Paniculata, to vulnerable groups nationwide.
Chalermchai Sri-on, Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, revealed that the Ministry has received herbal medicine from Charoen Pokphand Group to pass on to people in Bangkok Noi and Bang Phlat. CP Group and the ministry has a mutual goals to promote the cultivation of medicinal plants such as Andrographis paniculata, to use as a treatment for COVID-19 and also helping farmers to gain income from this new economic crop.
Prasit Boondoungprasert, Chief Executive Officer of CP Foods, said that, to celebrate the centenary of CP Group, the group has rallied support from all of its business units and offer helping hands to Thailand in time of crisis via multiple relief campaign. CP Foods, as a member of CP Group, therefore, pass on compassion and encouragement from Senior Chairman Dhanin Chearavanont and the group to Thai people by giving away the traditional herbal pills to people in need.
Previously, CP Foods has handed over the medicines to government hospital and other partner organizations in Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, Narathiwat and Nakhon Ratchasima provinces to distribute in their respective areas.
The project is growing Andrographis Paniculata in the area of 100 Rai in GAP certified farms in Saraburi province and produced under medical GMP PIC/S standard. The herbal pills are approved by the Food and Drug Administration.
