CP Foods extends CONNEXT ED project for 8 years, improving Thai kids’ ability to tap the 21st century

Charoen Pokphand Foods Public Company Limited or CP Foods (CPF) continues the CONNEXT ED program for the eighth consecutive year in an effort to improve the quality of education for Thai children.

The project aims to promote academic learning by adopting new skills and 21st century- technology knowledge along with the cultivation of professional skills to be integrated into the curriculums. The project also increases the ability of the School Partners (SP), who are the company’s volunteer employees, to collaborate with schools to improve education of Thai children.

Miss Pimonrat Reephattanavijitkul, Chief People Officer at CP Foods and Chairman of CONNEXT ED project said CP Foods, one of 12 private companies that established the CONNEXT ED foundation, is committing to enhancing the equality and quality of education for Thai children by supporting the CONNEXT ED project for the eighth year in a row. This year, the project will introduce the Proactive teacher for active learning program and the STEM education program to promote modern technology knowledge and new skills in the academic curriculums.

In addition, the company focus on developing children’s life and career skills in the 21st century by implementing the layer house model in the schools to enhance student’s knowledge and know-how from the company’s best practice and success on managing layer farming. This activity also helps improve children’s nutrition. The project has taken success lessons from 17 schools’ projects and share to other schools to adopt and to implement in their schools. The layer farming is one of 17 models, which also include the genius youth farmers program, the coffee shop by kids, and a school’s bakery shop, etc.

“CP Foods intends to financially support the CONNEXT ED project and provide potential employees as school partners to work with the participating schools to ensure the project’s success. This effort is in line with the Charoen Pokphand Group’s “3 Benefits” principle, which states that our business should benefit not only our Company and employees but also the countries and the communities in which we operate. This is in the DNA of CP Foods,” Pimonrat said.

CP Foods currently has 83 school partners working with 298 schools in the province of Nakhon Ratchasima, Chaiyaphum, Burirum and Saraburi. The company intends to increase the number of school partners to 150 by recruiting from its pool of young talent in order to ensure that all schools achieve their targets efficiently. Teachers and students benefit from the projects that enhance their academic performance. This has a positive impact on Thailand’s educational curriculum and infrastructure.

The CONNEXT ED project is led by CP Foods in collaboration with government agencies, private companies and non-governmental organizations. The project is implemented in accordance with 5 strategic frameworks, including 1. school information disclosure, 2.a marketing approach and participation culture, 3. development of teachers and management, 4. student’s morale and confidence improvement and 5. equal digital technology accessibility to all schools. This effort to bolster the nation’s educational foundation, enhance quality of education and ensure education equality.
