Charoen Pokphand Foods Public Company Limited (CP Foods) has reassured its commitment on delivering quality, contaminant-free, and nutritious food to ensure that people across the world can access to safe food supply to celebrate the World Food Safety Day on 7 June 2022. The theme for this year is “Safer food, Better health”
Dr.Sommai Tachasirinugune, Executive Vice President of CP Foods, said that the company, as a leading company in integrated agro-industrial and food industry, places importance on research and development nutritious foods for consumers of all ages. To achieve this, CPF Food Research and Development Center has adopted modern technology and innovation in order to comply with the guidelines of the United Nations for developing safe and healthy food products. He says that CP Foods is aiming to increase better health food products by 50 percent by 2030 (Thailand operations) to contribute to sustainability of the world's population health.
“CP Foods has applied technology or innovation to develop nutritious food at an affordable price for consumers of all ages and enables food security in line with our 'Kitchen of the World' vision said Dr. Sommai.
In 2021, CP Foods introduced new products developed to promote nutrition, health and wellness, which were equivalent to 40 percent of the total new products of the year. Moreover, we also took part in promoting access to health products among over 9 million consumers for Thailand operations. This included MeatZero, the company’s first Plant-based Meat products. Meat Zero products provide meat-like texture and real-meat taste and nutrition, but completely free of antibiotics, hormones, GMOs, and cholesterol.
The company is endeavoring to develop new products with more fresh, nutritious, clean, chemical-free and safe by using innovative probiotics, the company’s swine, chicken and shrimp are fed with probiotics resulting in disease risk reduction and thus reduced use of antibiotics for treatment. Moreover, CP Foods achieved to develop premium products including super food-fed swine “Cheeva Pork” rich in omega 3 and trans-fat-free and “Benja chickens” fed with brown rice, making chicken fleshes aromatic, soft, juicy and safe with zero percent of hormone and rich in omega 3. Both Cheeva Pork and Benja Chicken are certified NSF antibiotic-free throughout raising period.
Aside healthy food production, the company has also upgraded food quality and safety as well as increasing production efficiency through the application of automation and digital system, artificial intelligence, robotics throughout the supply chain. CP Foods also adopted blockchain technology to build and raise confidence of traceability. The SMART operations help CP Foods to produce better quality, safer food for all consumers across the world.
