CPF and Affiliates Honored with  “Outstanding Organization Award” in 2024 for Excellence in Promoting Employment for Persons with Disabilities

Charoen Pokphand Foods Public Company Limited (CPF) has received the prestigious "Outstanding Organization Award for Promoting Employment of Persons with Disabilities for 2024," marking the eighth consecutive year of recognition. In total, 12 companies within the CPF group were also honored with this award by the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security through the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities. This accolade highlights CPF's ongoing commitment to enhancing the stability and quality of life for individuals with disabilities and other vulnerable groups through meaningful employment opportunities. Additionally, two employees with disabilities were awarded certificates of merit for their outstanding contributions to the school lunch programs.

Mr. Chokchai Wichienchaiya, Director-General of the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, presented the awardsto CPF and its group of companies, which includes Bangkok Produce Public Company Limited, Chester Food Company Limited, CP-Meiji Company Limited, CPF Global Food Solutions Public Company Limited, CPF Research and Development Center, CPF IT Center Company Limited, International Pet Food Company, CPF Food and Beverage Company Limited, CPF Restaurant and Food Chain Company Limited, CP Merchandising Company Limited, and CPF (Thailand) Public Company Limited.

Currently, CPF and its group companies employ a total of 807 persons with disabilities, divided into three forms of employment: 210 persons working within CPF offices and operations, 581 employed in community where they live such as health promotion hospital assistants, working at temples, and overseeing the raising layer hens  for school lunches, and 1 individual who manages food sales in the feed plant cafeteria. Additionally, CPF supports 15 members of the Thai national wheelchair basketball team, creating opportunities for persons with disabilities to have stable jobs and income, thus driving the development of a stable and sustainable society.

Moreover, two persons with disabilities employed by CPF, Mr. Somchai Khunjaew, who assists with the raising  layer project for the school lunch program at Ban Phai Chearavanont School in Narathiwat, and Ms. Nipharat Phromsri, who works in the same capacity at Ban Erawan School in Loei, received awards as outstanding persons with disabilities selected by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities in each province. This reflects CPF’s long-term commitment to providing sustainable opportunities for persons with disabilities to achieve stable incomes, allowing them to support themselves and their families with dignity and contributing positively to their communities.

The Ministry of Social Development and Human Security (MSDHS), through the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEP), in collaboration with the National Council of Persons with Disabilities of Thailand and various disability organizations, organized the “International Day of Persons with Disabilities” to honor agencies and organizations that support the improvement of the quality of life for persons with disabilities, enabling them to live with dignity and promoting understanding of persons with disabilities.
