The Ministry of Social Development and Human Security granted the Outstanding Disability Employer 2022 plaque to Charoen Pokphand Foods PLC (CP Foods) and its 12 subsidiaries as an recognitions for its contributions to the disability community.
This year awards were given by General Prayut Chan-o-cha, Prime Minister. Currently, the company and its subsidiaries hire 681 employees with disabilities, working across CP Foods’ businesses, including community development project nationwide.
Pimonrat Reephattanavijitkul, Chief People Officer at CP Foods, said that the company is very proud to be recognized by the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security as a business organization that supports people with disabilities. Previously, CP Foods was awarded the “Outstanding” Sustainability Model Organization award 2022 in the Thai capital market for its contributions to the disabled by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)
Ms. Pimonrat emphasized that CP Foods values diversity and inclusiveness and provide equal opportunity for all. This commitment is also the part of "CPF 2030 Sustainability in Action" that will guide the company toward sustainable business.
“The company has cooperated with many sectors to create employment that directly benefits people with disabilities, including those who are living in communities far from CP Foods’ operation. The goal is to help people with disabilities to access their rights, enabling then be self-reliant in a sustainable way," said Ms. Ms. Pimonrat
Currently, CP Foods employs 681 people with disabilities, which is higher than the number required by law. 167 of them are working in the company operations. Meanwhile, 513 people were hired by CP Foods to work for their communities and CP Foods' “Raising Layer for Student's Lunch” project. One of them is running a shop within the company’s plant. Among these number are 17 Thai national wheelchair basketball players.
