Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok, presided over the "World Food Day 2024" event at the Don Mueang District Office on October 16, commemorating the United Nations’ World Food Day. This year's theme, set by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), is "Right to Food for a Better Life and a Better Future.”

Charoen Pokphand Foods Public Company Limited (CP Foods), represented by Mr. Narerk Mangkeo, Managing Director of CPF Food and Beverage Company Limited, alongside CP Foods employees, actively participated in the event. They provided high-quality, safe ingredients, including marinated pork, chicken meat, sausages, chicken meatballs, and eggs, which were presented to the Bangkok Governor for the BKK Food Bank project.

The Governor emphasized that while food resources are abundant, access remains unequal, with some having excess food and others in need. By connecting those with surplus food to those who lack it, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) can achieve sufficiency and become more livable through the spirit of sharing. 

He highlighted that this sharing is essential for fostering coexistence and also helps reduce food waste. The Governor expressed gratitude to all participating companies for their contributions, including the Si Mum Mueang Vegetable Market, CP Foods, Farmhouse, and SOS Foundation. BMA has been consistently running the BKK Food Bank project and is witnessing growing collaboration from the private sector, which may serve as a model globally in the future.

CP Foods has distributed food and ingredients to 12 BMA offices to prepare meals for vulnerable groups, including the elderly, patients, disabled individuals, and low-income citizens. Committed to ensuring food security, CP Foods focuses on producing sufficient food and upholding the right to access quality, safe, nutritious, and affordable food. Since 2021, CP Foods has collaborated with the Scholars of Sustenance Foundation (SOS Thailand) on the "Circular Meal - This Meal Changes the World" project. To date, this initiative has delivered over 59,000 kilograms of ingredients, equating to more than 250,000 meals for vulnerable populations.
