Charoen Pokphand Foods Public Company Limited (CP Foods), through its Livestock Feed Plants, received the Green Industry Level 4 (GI4) Award in 2024 from the Department of Industrial Works, Ministry of Industry. Mr. Boonserm Charoenwat, Senior Director of the Livestock Feed Business, along with representatives from 11 livestock feed mills, accepted the award.
CP Foods' feed business is committed to operating in an environmentally friendly manner while fostering cooperation and instilling environmental awareness among employees to "create an environmental culture." The company emphasizes operating the business with sustainability consciousness and environmental friendliness while promoting employee safety. As a result, all 12 livestock feed mills in Thailand have met the Department's criteria and received the Green Industry Level 4 award this year. Previously, the Bangna Km. 21 Livestock Feed mill received the GI4 Award last year. The GI4 Awards recognize organizations with a green culture dedicated to environmental and social responsibility.
The Livestock Feed Business has been operating with environmental awareness, including sourcing raw materials adhering to a policy of not purchasing from deforested sources and ensuring traceability, promoting renewable energy use by switching to biomass fuel instead of coal, and using electric forklifts. The company also enhances efficient electricity consumption by using automated technology for machine control, upgrading to high-efficiency motors, installing ozone systems to prevent the spread of odors to communities, and managing waste according to the 3Rs principle (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) to minimize landfill waste. Additionally, the business actively develops eco-friendly products with certified carbon footprint labels.
Furthermore, the company engages in activities with stakeholders and communities, such as projects to create value from community waste, Elder Care program, Promote safety and food security for schools.
This year, all 12 livestock feed plants have also received ISO 56002 Innovation Management System certification as a multi-site, becoming the first organization in Thailand to receive this certification. This results from focusing on creating an innovative corporate culture by encouraging all employees to participate in developing and implementing projects that can be applied within the organization, such as production efficiency enhancement, quality improvement, safety measures, and environmental performance, to promote capabilities and sustainable growth.
