"CPF's food from the heart against COVID-19" project has extended its support to the families of frontline doctors and nurses combatting COVID-19 outbreak.
The project has reached out to 88 public hospitals nationwide, delivering food products without charge to medical staffs on COVID-19 frontline as a heartfelt thanks for their tireless efforts.
In the second phase of the project, CPF will extend the food delivery to families of doctors and nurses working the public hospitals with Covid-19 patients.
Thai Deputy Minister of Public Health Satit Pitutecha presided over the launch ceremony on 9th April. The event also attended by Dr Sukhum Kanchanapimai, the permanent secretary of the Department of Public Health, Charoen Pokphand Group Chairman Soopakij Chearavanont, CPF’s CEO Prasit Boondoungprasert, True Group’s co-president Anat Mekpaiboonvatana and CPALL’s advisor to chairman of executive committee Suwit Kingkaew.
The Deputy Minister expressed appreciation for CPF’s project that has been supported frontline staffs and individuals under self-quarantine with food products. He added that the project is significantly aiding the government in combating the outbreak.
Dr Sukhum said the support from CP Group has increased the frontline’s morale and believe that the public-private partnership is the key to overcoming the Covid-19 crisis.
Mr. Soopakij gave a sincere appreciation, stating that medical staffs are the heroes and heroines in this crisis. He also assured that CP group will continue to support them in many ways as it can.
“As a Thai company, we pledge to support the country to combat COVID-19 until the very end,” he remarked.
CPF’s CEO Prasit added that the proud of being able to support Thai government's efforts to mitigate the effects of COVID-19 under "CPF's food from the heart against COVID-19" project.
Since the beginning on 1st March, the project has provided nutritional and healthy foods to frontline workers in 88 public hospitals across the country as well as supported over 20,000 people returning from overseas to 14-days self-quarantine. However, the number of self-quarantine individuals has significantly dropped due to current travel restriction. As a result, the company has decided to stop the service for the quarantine group and shifting its focus to the public hospitals.
During the one-month period, the company has given foods to staffs of public hospitals with COVID-19 patients nationwide, such as Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, Siriraj Hospital, Ramathibodi Hospital, Police Hospital, Rajavithi Hospital, Bamrat Naradun Hospital, Yarang Hospital, Vachira Phuket Hospital, Nakornping Hospital, Maharat Nakhon Ratchasima Hospital and Buriram Hospital.
In addition to the medical staffs themselves, CPF has extended the project to families of doctors and nurses that are battling covid-19.
“CPF's food from the heart for hospital and families of doctors and nurses” project is initiated by the company to help frontline doctors and nurses to take care of their families with high nutritional food products.
