Charoen Pokphand Foods PCL (CP Foods) reassured that its shrimp are contaminated-free from farm to table, while its production remains undisrupted by the new COVID-19 surge in Samut Sakhon, Thailand.
The company also commits to implement the most-stringent biosecurity measures throughout its operation to keep both its employees and consumers safe from the outbreak.
Mr.Pairoj Apiruknusit, Executive Vice President at CP Foods, reassures that the company has continuously maintain the strictest biosecurity measure at all of its operations since March this year. This includes personal hygiene of its staffs at workplace and outside of their works. As a result, CP Foods’ operations remains undisrupted since the start of the outbreak, helping the company to be able to deliver safe food to consumers sufficiently and continuously.
“Since Samut Sakhon Province announced the lock down, all of the company’s workers are asked to stay inside the facility to reduce the risk of infection. Our measures aims at making sure that the consumers will receive safe food from a traceable source, “said Mr. Pairoj.
CP Foods, as a leading integrated shrimp producer , has placed importance on the safety from upstream to downstream, starting from traceable aquafeed to stringent biosecurity measures that can prevent the farm from shrimp diseases.
The company also invented a farming technique called “3-clean” principle, which includes: clean ponds, clean shrimp post larvae and clean water in order to maintain a hygienic culture. Subsequently, CP Foods’ shrimps are healthy and growing fast without using antibiotics.
He reassures that all migrant workers are employed in Thailand under the MoU between Thai government and the government at workers’ country of origin. According to the MoU, all of them are legally recruited by agencies that are authorized by their government and in line with Thai labor standards. Together with the company’s readiness, CP Foods can effectively monitor and control all processes.
Mr. Pairoj said that CP Foods also educates all of its shrimp farmers on COVID-19 prevention. Meanwhile, shrimps are transported directly from farm to consumers in an effort to minimize human contact.
“I would like consumers to be confident in shrimp consumption, both fresh and processed products. CP Foods’ shrimp are made from the high standard food production that can be trace back to the raw material sources. We guarantee fresh, hygienic and contaminated-free foods to all of our consumers,” he said.
