Ministry of Labour and Charoen Pokphand Foods PCL (CP Foods) jointly sing a memorandum of understanding (MoU)for the employment of 8,000 new graduates, upskill franchisee of FiveStar Business and Coupon from the Heart to Self-Insurance People Project in an attempt to curb unemployment and bolster economy since affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
announced plans to employ 8,000 new graduates, create more food franchise owners and giveaway discount coupons for social security insurers in an effort to accelerate post-Covid 19 economic recovery.
Mr. Suthi Sukosol, Labour permanent secretary, and Mr. Prasit Bunduangprasert, CEO at CP Foods, signed the MoU for the three projects at CP Tower 1 in Bangkok. The event had witnessed by Mr. Suchart Chomklin, Labor Minister and Mr. Adirek Sripratak, CP Foods’ Chairman of the executive committee.
Mr. Suchart said the government has a policy to unite all sectors of the society to revive the economy from the coronavirus crisis that caused job cuts, leaving many unemployed, especially new graduates. He then added that CP Foods has been constantly supporting the government in Covid-19 relief effort since the beginning of the outbreak. This post Covid-19 collaboration will create stability for people at all level and building more SME owners that are the foundation of Thai economy. Mr. Prasit said CP Foods is managed in line with CP Group CEO Suphachai Chearavanont’s policy, to solve the country’ unemployment problem, particularly amongst new graduates, by creating jobs opportunity and job security, as driven engine for economic revival after COVID-19.
Under the MoU, CP Foods will hire 8,000 jobs, including 4,000 in Bangkok and metropolitan areas and 4,000 more in the upcountry, with job offers covering upstream through downstream business, such as veterinarian, animal husbandry, engineer, scientist, researcher, food and beverage service officer, and many positions in the computer science field to develop the company’s smart farming and smart factory.
