This morning (August 26, 2014), the representative of Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs has organized the media from Muslim countries visit food processe at CPF (Thailand) Public Company Limited. (Minburi plant), which is a subsidiary of Charoen Pokphand Foods Public Company Limited (CPF)
Mr. Suphachai Aungsupakorn, Senior Vice President, presented that CPF chicken processes had been produced under Islamic principles and certified by Central Islamic Committee of Thailand (CICOT) that acts as the certified body for Thai HALAL foods and well accepted by the world’s Islamic Committee.
CPF is recognized to adhere to the Islamic principles, governing HALAL food. All CP food processes are produced based on HALAL principles governing slaughtering by Muslims, processing chicken meat and by using materials in accord with all the Islamic principles, enabling CPF Food Products Co., Ltd. to export HALAL fresh chicken meat and frozen furthered chicken product to Muslim and other countries of more than 910 mln USD in 2013 and 1200 mln USD in 2014 by forecasting. The main Muslim markets are in Dubai, Bahrain and Malaysia.
CPF (Minburi) has implemented Prosustain which is product life cycle assessment system by focusing in 3 areas: Economic, Social, and Ecology. CPF (Minburi Plant) recieved Prosustain Certificate of Conformity from DNV Business Assurance on May 3, 2013. Moreover, CPF firstly gives precedence to quality. CPF has Online Traceability system to trace back quality in every process through the life cycle of products from feed, farm, until further processing plant to guarantee the product quality to customers.
The Minburi plant of Charoen Pokphand Foods PCL is a chicken processing plant that export to Muslim countries and employ Muslims more than 60% of all employees. For all of above, the Minburi chicken processing plant was chosen as Thai representative to welcome the media from the Muslim countries.
