CP Vietnam celebrates a monumental success in the country with a recognition from the government as it is the first-ever Thai company to receive Order of Labour, the 3rd class Award from Vietnam’s government.

It reflects the success of company’s principle “3-Benefit to Sustainability for the Country, People, and Company”.

“The company would like to express our utmost gratitude toward the government of Vietnam for 25 years of support. Moreover, we would like to thank farmers who work with us, our employees and Vietnamese consumers for supporting our products,” he said.

Mr. Montri explained that the company is operating agro-industrial businesses, including Feed – Farm –Food model. The company has created jobs for over hundred thousand families across Vietnam.

“CP Vietnam is one of an outstanding taxpayer of Vietnam for several consecutive years. In addition, the company’s revenue also directly supports CP Foods business,” said Montri.

In 1993, CP Vietnam was established as a food conglomerate, covering both livestock and aquaculture businesses. Nowadays, it has more than 20,000 employees. Over 98% of the staffs, including high-level managements, are Vietnamese.

Mr. Jirawit Rachatanan, Executive Vice President - Swine Business of CP Vietnam, said the company produced 5 million pigs, 200 million eggs and 80,000 tons of chicken product in 2017. Some of these outputs were from the local contract farmers. The contract farming model can greatly mitigate the risk of fluctuate product price. Particularly, 2,410 of its contract farms were not affected by low pork price, which plagued the local pig industry a couple of years ago. Meanwhile, many independent farmers were severely damaged and some of them went out of business.

He added that besides farming, 546 CP Pork shops has run by local entrepreneurs. CP Pork shop initiative has created jobs for the local as well as improving food safety.

The company also reports a significant progress in poultry business. It has recently invested in the first phase of a poultry processing complex for export production. The complex is considered to be the most modern chicken processing facility in Southeast Asia with the capacity of one million chicken per week.

He added that the company has made a significant success in mitigating risk of the shrimp disease outbreak with “C.P. Combined Model”. The approach, which transfers many of the industry’s best practices to small scale farming, has gained an approval from both farmers and the government. It helps the farmers to maximize the production while lower fatality rate.

“The achievement in Vietnam’s combined shrimp farm has become a role model for CP Foods business across the world,” Mr. Adisak said.

Mr. Suphat Sritanatorn, Executive Vice President - Food Processing Business, said the company has gain 20% market share in Sausage market.
