Faculty of Veterinary, Kasetsart University has jointed hand with Charoen Pokphand Foods PCL (CPF) to arrange "Asean Veterinary Volunteer Project" for five consecutive years aims to increase experiences and skills of veterinary, students and concerned officials.
The project will strengthen experiences of those concerned people to use in their careers. The company provides not only financial support but also allow them to learn and practice in its main catering.
Dr.Jongrak Watcharinrat, Ph.D., Acting President of Kasetsart University, said CPF has supported the project since 2013. It aims to upgrade leadership of veterinary, student and concerned official to help develop their home countries.
"So far, Kasetsart University becomes veterinary hub of Asean region thank to CPF to encourage us. Student are waiting to participate in this project every year. Particularly, many universities in Asean want to host this project," said Dr.Jongrak.
Prof. Dr.Apinan Suprasert (DVM), dean of Faculty of Veterinary, Kasetsart University, said some 30 students from leading universities in Asean were selected to join this project. They will learn and practice at Kasetsart University, knowledge center and livestock farms of CPF. The 5th Asean Veterinary Volunteer Project will be held in Bangkok during June 17 - July 19 this year.
Besides, University of Veterinary Science in Myanmar also allows students to have direct experience by practicing in farms in the country.
"It is an important project which step along with Kasetsart University's Faculty of Veterinary strategy to become a leader and service provider at international level," said Prof. Dr.Apinan.
Mr. Anek Boonnoon, vice chairman of CPF, said the company has contributed to the project Bt1.5 million. It is an important project to strengthen network of veterinary in Asean as well as it help develop skills of participants.
"CPF expands its investment throughout Asean (except Brunei) in relevant to outside the region. This project is a key fundamental development of veterinary career through One Health program," said Mr.Anek.
The One Health program will encourage student to learn more the way to product food quality and food safety without damage environment.
