16 August 2016 -- Charoen Pokphand Food PCL (CPF) reported that its total sale revenue in the second quarter this year achieved Bt116.78 billion, up by 13 per cent and net profit surged by 35 per cent to Bt4.016 billion.
As of June 30, 2016, CPF’s investment covers 14 countries. In the second quarter this year, its sale revenue from domestic market accounted for Bt44.629 billion and overseas operation for Bt72.148 billion, an increased by 12 per cent and 13 per cent respectively. In addition, the revenue generated from Thailand, China and Vietnam accounted for 77 per cent of its total sales.
Mr.Adirek Sripratak, President and Chief Executive Officer of CPF, said the company’s overall result operation in the second quarter both in Thailand and its overseas investment is in the upward trend. Particularly, livestock business in Vietnam and Thailand have continued rebound from the meat oversupply problem last year. In addition, aquaculture business was better recovered from the effect of Early Mortality Symdrome (EMS). These have encouraged the company’s gross profit increased from 13.5 per cent to 17.4 per cent this year and its profit before tax income sky rocketed by 91 per cent. However, due to a change in the accounting method for businesses under the Board of Investment’s promotional privileges, the company has revised the method by which it books its taxable income by adding it up all together in the second quarter. As a result, the company’s net profit rose by 35 per cent.
The company is also forecast the business is approaching forward to its goal to grow by 10-15 per cent this year. Its strategies to ensure business growth will focus on market expansion, product value creation as well as the increase of production efficiency on social and environmental responsibility for sustainable growth. The company also increased investment in China in May and the Sri Lanka in July this year.
CPF’s board of committee also approved dividend payment for the first six months this year through the end of June 30, 2016 at 50 satang per share.
