(23 June 2017- Bangkok) -- Charoen Pokphand Foods PLC offers to pay Bt3 million in compensation to each of the families of 5 victims who lost their lives in an accident at the duck processing plant on Bangna-Trat Road.
CPF wishes to extend deepest regret and vowed to help the victims' families. On top of the compensation, it will extend scholarship to the families that lost the breadwinners, so that their children can pursue bachelor degrees.
Mr.Sooksunt Jiumjaiswanglerg, Chief Executive Officer – Agri business & Co-president of CPF, said that on behalf of CPF's management team and employees, the company hereby extended the deepest regret to the victims' families. The incident was a great loss to the company and it will do its best in helping the victims' families. It had made contacts with the families and would soon deliver the Bt3 million compensation. To ease their difficulties, for the families that lost the breadwinners, the company would offer scholarships to their children until they earn bachelor degrees. The company would attend the religious ceremony of all families.
"The company would like to extend our deepest regret. All executives and employees are saddened by the incident. We vow to take care of everything in our best efforts," he said.
CPF has set up the accident fact finding committee, to devise preventive measures and review the safety measures for greater efficiency and effectiveness.
