Charoen Pokphand Foods PCL (CPF) has cooperated with Panyapiwat Institute of Management (PIM) to strengthen skills of students to achieve good join in food industry.
Dr.Tiranun Srikunchai, dean of Agricultural Industry Faculty of PIM, said the institute wants to create number of professional in agro-industrial business through work-based education model. Students have to learn in class and practices together with conduct personnel research.
"This faculty is quite new which was opened for just 3 years and we have to develop both curriculum and human resources to ensure advanced learning organization," said Dr.Tiranun.
In 2016, it was the first tie that the faculty had been assessed under Quality Assurance (QA), especial the farm management technology curriculum. The assessment comes under Office of the Higher Edcuation Commission's standard. In addition, experts from CPF also help transfer their experiences to students under the mission of GRAPS (Graduate - 13 Criteria, Research, Academic Services, Preservation of Arts and Culture, Creating Share Values for Stakeholders).
Mr. Somkuan Choowatanapakorn, Chief Operating Officer - Pig Business of CPF, said the company encourage the institute to apply international curriculums and modern teaching models in the class. Both students and academics will be allowed to practices in the company's farm and processing plants.
Moreover, PIM plans to revise its curriculum including Farm Technology Management and Food Processing Technology Management to English program in 2018. The plan is to serve high-school students in countries where CPF have investment to solve skilled worker shortage.
