Nakhon Ratchasima, September 7, 2018 – Charoen Pokphand Foods PCL (CPF) declares its full support on Ministry of Education’s “Partnership School” project, citing that the scheme will build the next generation talents with occupational skills that match demands from local community.
The initiative is a collaboration between local community, government and private sector. These schools operate independently, allowing them to have a flexible curriculum and design a tailor made learning path that fit for the community’s context.
Recently, two partnership schools, Thongchaineurwittaya School and Chumchon Ban Wat School, both are supervised by CPF, were visited by Clin. Prof. Udom Kachintorn, Deputy Minister, Ministry of Education, and Mr. Mechai Viravaidya, the partnership school project’s innovation development committee. The group were welcomed by students from Thongchaineurwittaya School, who demonstrated Indian oyster mushroom cultivation to the visitors.
Mr. Taweesin Kunagonpitakgool, Vice President at CPF, said schools, private sectors, local communities and relevant parties have been working together to boost the quality of education. This partnership schools aim at reducing inequity in Thai education and improving capacity of teachers and students. In addition, it will be the learning center for the local communities.
CPF set up a 5-years plan 2018 – 2023 to support the project. It will focus in improving both academic performance and enhancing personal skills based on the student’s interest. The students will learn from the first-hand experience through training at school and internship.
“Both schools have a potential to be a role model for other schools and community learning center. The company believes that the cooperation between CPF and other parties will help the partnership schools to achieve the greater height in academic quality and occupational skills, allowing them to compete in the international level,” he said
Mr. Mathee Korbtakob, the director of Thongchaineurwittaya School, said the school has set goals that all students must be able to read and using English in daily life. To achieve the goals, multimedia and technologies will be applied to support the learning. The school also teaches occupational skills to students.
“We initiated the scheme called “One classroom, One product” scheme for students from kindergarten to Grade 9. In each year, the students will learn two occupational skills. For example, the kindergarten student will learn Indian oyster mushroom cultivation and painting in this year,” he said.
Mr. Mathee added that the knowledge on mushroom cultivation has been pass on to the community as well.
